'DiverseIT - Integrated thinking in an ever changing world'
Following a fantastic 2016 conference, the line-up for this year's event on 11-13 October will not leave you disappointed.
In a world where the 'filter bubble' is getting tighter and tighter and our spheres of insight often seem to be shrinking, the theme reflects the need for us all to challenge our thinking, to seek to avoid group think, to bring in the Devil's Advocate voice or a 13th juror to help us tackle the disruption and threats to our charities that we see. Some of that is about getting balances right, whether it is about accessibility or gender or ethnic mix but more it is about broadening what we do now and bringing in an agitating voice to make sure we consider the inconceivable.
We have some amazing speakers and activities planned for the conference including:
- ESRI (the makers of ArcGIS one of the best mapping technologies around) as a keynote speaker on the importance of 'data and visualisation - changing people's minds with a map'
- Building partnerships for good - a talk from Andrew Horton, Executive Director of Partnerships & Innovation at the British Council with a focus on the Micro:Bit
- A special Hacakathon session taking place throughout the conference
- Graham Cluley, an independent computer security analyst, will be joining us as one of our keynote speakers
As something a little different, this year we have booked the Headshot Guy who will have a small stand in the sponsors' room and will allow every delegate to have a professional photograph taken and get a copy of the image. You can pay a small additional fee to receive a hi-res image if you so desire. This is a great opportunity to update everything from your identity card right through to your LinkedIn profile and stop using one of your holiday snaps taken on your mobile phone.
You also have the opportunity to sign up to this year's Masterclass event which is being held on Wednesday 11th October. There is a strict availability to the first 20 registrants for the Masterclass at this initial stage of registration, once these places are gone, they are gone!
The Gala dinner on Thursday 12th October is again inclusive in the standard ticket as is the Private dinner on Wednesday 11th October if you are able to join us ahead of the main conference.
